Comparing costs of alternative designs

aPriori provides the ability to compare different scenarios to identify the costs of alternative designs or manufacturing approaches for a part, an assembly, or a roll-up.

For example, you might cost a sheet metal component with a scenario produced in Mexico and a scenario produced in China. You can add both scenarios to a comparison and analyze the price difference.

With the Compare facility described in this section, you can compare any two scenarios. A different facility, Matrix Costing, automates the generation of multiple scenarios that differ only for Digital Factory, production volume, and batch size. The Matrix Costing facility automatically loads the generated scenarios into the Bulk Costing facility, enabling you to cost them all at once and then compare the results, see Matrix Costing.
